Dry needling is extremely effective for relaxing overactive muscles, which contain trigger points or taut bands within the muscle fibres. A trigger point is a hyperirritable spot within the muscle. It is usually painful to touch and may refer pain to a different region of the body.
Dry needling involves the insertion of a sterile acupuncture needle into a muscular trigger point aiming to deactivate it, resolving the associated pain and restoring muscular function.
Functional cupping is an effective technique for the treatment of muscular pain and soft tissue restrictions. Functional cupping achieves its outcomes through increasing localised blood vasodilation, desensitises pain, and improves soft tissue extensibility.
Myofascial tissue intertwines throughout the entire body to provide structural support as we move through life. This tissue often becomes rigid and adhesed due to underuse, inactivity or injury- leaving you feeling tight, stiff and immobile.
Myofascial release rectifies this though applying direct manual pressure and stretching to the facial layers, relaxing the tissue, restoring elasticity and health.
Clinical taping is applied for the purpose of injury prevention or to support musculoskeletal structure during a patient's rehabilitation. The application of taping will depend on the client’s injury and pain presentation.
Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that involves the application of sustained firm pressure, using slow, deep strokes to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.
When joints become dysfunctional as a result of injury, overuse, or disuse, they are unable to perform their designed movements. This can often result in joint pain, stiffness, and immobility.
We use gentle joint mobilisation techniques to restore the small involuntary movements that assist joints to perform optimally and pain free.
Each muscle has potential trigger points casued by muscle overuse, inflammation, trauma, or postural related stress. These trigger points can cause pain over the muscle affected or refer pain to other areas of the body.
Trigger Point Therapy involves direct, sustained pressure being applied over the trigger point, aiming to deactivate it, alleviate the associated pain and restore function.
Lymphatic drainage massage is designed to encourage the flow of lymphatic fluid out from swollen limbs and areas of the body.
MLD is gentle, slow, rhythmic and has specific directional pressure. It is useful for treating a wide range of health issues, such as arthritis, fluid retention, oedema, sports injuries, pre and post surgery.
